Helping Hands for Kids in Crisis

Community Partners of Johnson County exists to provide emergency resources to Family Protective Services workers for the abused and neglected children in our community.

Who we are

About Community Partners of Johnson County

Volunteer run and community funded, we help thousands of abused and neglected children, providing services to assist the child in remaining in their home or when there is a need to leave their home. These children often leave with only a few personal belongings — often just the clothes they are wearing.

How we help:

  • Partnering with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
  • Providing Case Workers with new items children need 24/7
  • Supporting children from birth to 18 years of age
  • Community Fundraisers — Events and On-line options to help

Driven by our hearts and the generosity of the community, we continue to look for ways to support innocent children in need. Each year, we see a drastic increase in the number of children utilizing our serves. Your donations directly impact the caseworker’s ability to best serve the children in our community.

Why it matters

A child removed from home often arrives with nothing

Caseworkers can be handed a case at midnight. The Rainbow Room means they can walk in and leave with clothes that fit, a coat, a car seat — the same night, not next week.

What we do

Our Programs

Practical help, delivered fast — because a caseworker often has hours, not days.

Rainbow Room

The Rainbow Room is a store-like setting located in the Child Protective Services buildings that provides caseworkers with clothing, hygiene and other daily items that children need 24/7. Our biggest needs are baby items, lice kits and seasonal clothing like coats. Last year we helped over 600 children through the Rainbow Room program.

Rainbow Room Drives

Organizing a drive for the Rainbow Room is easy. Gather your civic, church or work group together and collect one of the items shown below. Then email us at [email protected] to arrange a delivery.

Summer Camp

Our Summer Camp program provides funds for children in Family Protective Services care to attend summer camps of their choice. These summer camp programs help children learn new things and spend time just being a kid.

Last summer, we were able to provide the resources necessary to help over 20 children attend area camp programs. Designate your donation to our summer camp program to be a helping hand for a child go to camp this summer.

Caseworker Appreciation

We know our caseworkers have one of the hardest jobs around, so being able to show our appreciation for the long days and emotional stresses they encounter each day is a privilege.

We provide lunches, seasonal treats and help in any special projects they may have throughout the year. Designate your donation to caseworker appreciation to help with this program.
